On the cover of French edition of Vogue appeared a women who is not a model. Can you guess who she is?
Carine Roitfeld, editor-in-chief of the French Vogue, decided that on the cover of the september issue of Vogue (one of two year's most important) there will be an actress - Marion Cotillard. It's an unprecedented situation.
Sure, there have been covers with actresses, yet of the American edition. As far as French go, they've always had a different attitude towards these matters. Till now, the editorial of the magazine has limited Vogue only to fashion, while Americans has also included broadly defined Lifestyle. , Even though French has always surpassed Americans in case of collections and trends, more women prefer American edition due to it less pompous character and its attitude towards fashion, as something available for everybody.
I'm not surprised at French. Being a model is a hard job. Probably as hard as being an actress. Mind that an actress is in fact only playing a model. The difference, more or less, is that when Coco Rocha is posing, technicians ask only for more light. Whether when Gwyneth Paltrow is being shot they shout to her not to move. The final effect is that the graphics cut face from one picture and paste it to the body from another.
Apparently, Marion Cotillard is much better in playing a model. Still, I think that graphics have done a lot of editing, as Marion doesn't resemble herself at all...
