Bronx designers are very gifted in going beyond the stylistic boundaries. Their projects are always intriguing and very expressive.
Take a look at Bronx Herald 43551 from Herald family, which is being advertised with the slogan: afterparty with the boys. The add presents a "nerd - tomboy". The afterparty with the boys has no sexual meaning implied, rather matey.
For few years, Hollywood is proposing a stereotype that in high school it's best to be a nerd tomboy. In the end, four-eyess (according to Hollywood) always turn up to be the most interesting people in school, win the best boy and are doing most successful careers. Never mind, that on the way they must bare rude remarks of frivolous girls. Scriptwriters are probably treating their ancient complexes...
I am a keen opponent of such banalities and simplifications. Bronx, as can be seen, too. For Bronx, an avocation for the boyish style and glasses aren't a symbol of repelling in the school years, but a conscious stylistic decision. Not a role of the swot, but a practical and nonclichéd style. Both, teenagers and mature women, deserve a whole range of styles. And shoes inspired by the boyish style extend stylistic boundaries. I really hope, that they won't go out of fashion. Seeing such interesting proposals, as this from Bronx, I predict golden years for shoes of this type.
Bronx Herald 43551 are not only inspired by men's fashion. They also refer to Victorian times and fabulous vintage openwork shoes.
Bronx Herald 43551 are made of natural leather (top and insole). They've got 1.2" heel. They come in two colours: black and chestnut.
