If you aren't a tall model or anorexic thin actress, "fish" dress won't look good on you.
Helen Mirren is 65 years old. Have you seen her in Calendar Girls? I wish I had her body when I'm her age, but not her stylistic taste.
For Palm Springs International Film Festival, Hellen wore a tight fitting, violet dress which highlighted her roundednesses: hips, bosom and belly. Toned down cardigan and glistening bracelets looked odd with the dress.
Dresses in the fish cut look good on slender and tall women. They accentuate bosom and hips. You may look like a fish or like a whale in them...
I must say, however, that the colour is fabulous. I'm beginning to love this shade of violet. Mysterious violet and dirty plum are nice variaties among gloomy winter colours.
