Where did Marc Jacobs get his inspirations from? Well, in his case there was never just one, simple answer to this question.
Marc Jacobs is, since at least two decades, delighting the whole world with his designs. His style is adored by the Managing Editors of the premiere fashion magazines, celebrities and fashion stars such as Alexa Chung, Sofia Coppola and Kate Bosworth, but his fan list is de facto much longer.
The collection for the spring and summer of 2011 presented during the New York Fashion week is just another way to arouse the jealousy of other designers, which for years have been trying at least to catch up with the vision of Jacobs.
The designer known from his obsessive punctuality began his presentation precisely at 8:00 pm. There appeared, on a cylinder shaped golden stage, spring disco divas accompanied with the sounds of Vivaldi's "Summer" from his "Four Seasons".
Where did he get his inspirations from? Well, in his case there was never just one, simple answer to this question. The designer makes use of the 80's madness, the decadent style of the club 54, the style of the 70's ( hats, hairdos, gold, sequins, platforms), the Missoni zigzag facture, airy one-piece costumes and a lot more other styles...
In his pallette of colours the most noticeable were the intensive shades of red in the ethereal form such as the poppy petals, an almost golden shade of yellow, desert orange, purple, pink, fuchsia, light violet and black. The biggest role among the accessories played the golden stillettos, clutch bags and leather handbags , also made of patent leather, silky scarfs and sunglasses.
